Ritu Goel, M.B.B.S.

 
Dr. Goel is a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist, providing Psychiatric Evaluations, Psychotherapy, and Psychopharmacology. 

She is Board Certified in:
  • Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Dr. Goel has expertise in treating psychiatric illnesses including those of the Autism Spectrum Disorder and intellectual disabilities.  She has served as an investigator in clinical trials exploring novel treatments for ADHD, anxiety, and sleep disturbances at the Johns Hopkins/Krieger Institute.

After completing her basic medical training at Sarojini Naidu Medical College in Agra, India, Dr. Goel completed psychiatric training at the University College London, UK.  Following training, she provided psychiatry services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in London at National Health Services (NHS).

Dr. Goel completed her U.S. Residency in Psychiatry at The University at Buffalo (UB/SUNY) School of Medicine in Buffalo, NY.  She then did a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UB, where she served as the Chief Resident.

Prior to joining Woodmont Psychiatry Group, Dr. Goel was a faculty member in Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine, where she instructed child and adolescent psychiatry residents.  Concurrently, she treated children and adolescents in the Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic at the Kennedy Krieger Institute (she remains on the faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine).  She also serves on the Board of Child Literacy, a New Jersey not-for-profit that serves the educational, psychological and social needs of children between the ages of 6 and 18.
